Sky News host Peta Credlin says the Labor government made a “knee jerk decision” to cap coal and gas prices, in a “futile attempt” to rescue their promise to cut power bills by $275.

“The whole energy mess, of course, stems from successive governments trying to run the electricity system to reduce emissions rather than to deliver affordable and reliable power,” Ms Credlin said.

“Already some companies are scaling back investment in coal and gas, the coal and gas we need to sustain our export income even if renewables could keep the lights on domestically.”

You can’t just cap coal. it’s like saying we are going to cap 10% of everyone’s coffee ☕️ Just think about the logistics of that every mine has built “rail to export” not deliver domestically. You would have to truck it, the rail infrastructure doesn’t support this model.
