When a tornado hits your hometown | Opinion

. The alternative to flares burning off excess product at the refineries is things blowing up.

Last Thursday in Deer Park, I saw more repair trucks from Centerpoint Energy than I’ve ever seen in one place before. I ran out of fingers to count them on before I got around the block. It’s strange to see places that I know so well have so much damage. Growing up I was heavily involved in programs at the local community center.

My back has some strong thoughts about my helping move the roofing that got blown off our warehouse into the dumpster. Compared to so many, our office got off lightly. StateWhile the cleanup is going to take a moment, we’re very lucky that, as we know, no one was killed. The tornado pretty much skipped over the schools that were full of students when it passed by.
