What we do know is that chipmakers will work with industry partners to shape the future of DRAM development as a direct result of this program. In December, Intel said it would contribute its findings back to JEDEC – the industry consortium that oversees DRAM standards. So, while the DoE program may advance US nuclear strategy in the near term, it has the potential to benefit civilians too. ®
