A story that CBC broke, about someone in Danielle Smith’s office contacting the Crown prosecutor’s office regarding the Coutts protests and blockades, is politically problematic for the premier. Any political interference in the judicial system is deeply concerning. What’s also somewhat concerning is that CBC, that functions on a relatively shoe-string budget in Alberta, and has never been first to report a big story in this province, managed to scoop all the other media on this breaking story.
