New forecasts by Investec suggest energy bills could fall below £2,500 from July as wholesale gas prices fall.

Energy bills could fall further than previously forecast later this year, easing pressure on struggling households, new projections suggest.

Less generous government help means a typical household gas and electricity bill is expected to rise from £2,500 a year to £3,000 a year in April. But falling wholesale gas prices mean annual bills could fall below this from July, says finance firm Investec.recent forecasts by energy consultancy Cornwall InsightInvestec said warmer weather and higher gas storage levels had helped bring down gas prices in recent months.that suppliers can charge households per unit of energy.

They are unlikely to fall back to that level for many years, after prices spiked following Russia's invasion of Ukraine and as industry recovered from coronavirus-related lockdowns.

Fall further into my bank account?

What do you mean fall further. They haven't gone down for a while now?!

Energy bills in the UK are higher than all the big European countries by a massive margin. So they give hardly any support and then pull it altogether in April. So now we have to be happy when it returns to the same astronomical level it is today! This is a joke.

Yeah and they predicted fuel prices falling and look where that got us

Why aren’t they falling now as the wholesale price of gas has been dropping for ages!!! Oh yeah they want to have bumper profits on the back of people going cold .

Falling upwards is definitely a skill

'fall further' than what exactly? Also they are predicted to be higher than the current price cap.

Great news.

C'mon BBC. Do better.

WDYM fall further? When did they start falling, all I’ve seen is them skyrocketing!

Even further, wow i didn’t possibly think they could get even lower

Sorry try again, this headline is not dramatic enough We need more Drama not positive

You realise these aren’t really falling, right? A £500 difference isn’t really that much of a savings. Bills are still DOUBLE what they were prior. Wages haven’t gone up to offset inflation, but profits due to corporations price-gouging have climbed. Where’s your piece on that?

Gas is 70% cheaper than it was pre Ukraine war, it should be dropped immediately. Oh wait Tory donors.

Wow! You lucky lucky people!

So poor people have to struggle to pay their bills but rich people are given a price cap. Why isn't the Gas Price Cap means tested.

So the cap is £2500 for everyone whether you earn £100, 000 or receive £75 a week Universal Credit. Am I right in thinking this. So this price cap is for rich people and poor people still have to starve and freeze. I see. I am beginning to understand now.

Energy bills are not falling. In fact they’re likely to go up by a further 20% in April, unless the budget freezes the energy price guarantee. We can only hope that by next winter the tories give everyone the £400 subsidy given the election will be on the horizon.

The proof will be in the profits of the energy providers. As people are struggling, we'll see how far they are exploiting suffering. The government should tax 100% of the provider profits until the energy price cap is below £2,000 per household.

Fall further? To what? Still a massively excessive price as a result of all parties embracing green dogma and failing to prioritise energy security!

To fall further? They’d have to fall first to then be able to fall further! Know mine with eonenergyuk have only been going one way ⬆️🆙

For the public? When?

No they won’t. The likes of BritishGas will fleece their customers for as long as possible.

Fall further They haven't ever fallen

'fall further' typo? 😅

Bills might be £22 a year on average cheaper than they are now. Plus you won’t benefit from £400 government rebate, making them on average £378 more expensive

“To fall further”? 😂Is there a flag for gaslighting? Quite literally forgive the punn. Yes cos they’ve been falling & falling haven’t they? I’ve enjoyed the news pieces on warm banks & ppl filling flasks so they only boil a kettle 1ce a day! Look 4ward 2 them falling further!

Energy prices may fall, doesn't mean the greedy energy companies will pass on the benefits to the customers !! Will be good to know what profits they have made this year.

Is this a joke?

It's a racket and you're not doing your job to expose it

Further impoies they are currently falling. And they just bloody aren't are they?

Ha ha “further” fakery at its best. You need to ask yourself why bills are not tumbling already
