Driving home for Christmas brought problems for some drivers of electric vehicles as they were forced to wait in queues to charge up their cars.

Telford Services was among those cited by Tesla owners who went onto social media to complain about long queues for the charges.

But with only a limited amount of chargers still in place across the UK, many drivers found themselves facing queues to use them - and not enough power left in the car battery to drive to alternative sites. The main problem however seemed to be at the Tebay services on the M6 in Cumbria - one driver posted that the family had waited two hours to charge up.

Poor planning!

Progress eh ?

Ah diddums gutted for them in their shite musk mobiles🤣

😂 this makes no sense. You will use fuel either way. If you’re sitting with the heater on both will consume energy. 👍 enjoy paying £10 per gallon.

i would love an EV but the infrastructure just isn't there yet

Just imagine if we were all stuck in snow and ice whilst driving EVs, I think I'll be buying a diesel before 2030 for my long haul trips.
