Wow

finally some good news. 👍🏾

Confusing why a serious media outlet would omit that the result is not a _true_ net gain ('Q total 'as opposed to 'Q plasma'). FT has a responsibility. Groundless hype risks deferring investments that are badly needed in the energy sector here and now to avert a disaster.

And the radiation damage to the container and surroundings? What isotopes created from neutron bombardment? In fusion the fuel is not converted into waste… the reactor is.

It is still a very long way. Most of the people reading these tweets will not live to see it working IF it works at all.

'Two of the people with knowledge of the results said the energy output had … damaged some diagnostic equipment, complicating the analysis' Looks like premature, pro-nuclear fusion speculation…

hopium for npcs

This is the 100000000000th time I have seen the same headline

Nice...

At first glance, I thought it was a trash heap.

The helical tomahawk reactor was patented in 2017 & the process. Just now the non compete clause has expired for the scientists who created it

Potentially an incredible step towards NetZero if this is indeed true, but still many years before it could be a viable power source.
