WATCH: Mantashe accuses Eskom of agitating for the overthrowing of the state

JOHANNESBURG - Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy Gwede Mantashe says that Eskom is agitating for the overthrow of the state.

This as businesses and homes are going up to 10 hours a day without electricity as Stage 6 blackouts are implemented."Eskom has 48,000 megawatts connected but at best it was 26,000 megawatts and that’s where this gap is," he said. "If Eskom can attend to that then we will have a solution. Any other government could be overthrown as a result of load-shedding, any government.Source

Because of MYANC mismanagement of Eskom_SA over 25 years. Policies of: - deploying unqualified cadres to replace qualified staff in name of transformation. - Giving away free electricity without increasing capacity. - Minimal maintenance. -Corruption and theft of billions. -..

Mantashe is the minister in charge. What has he done to avoid this 'agitation '?

Is he suggesting that the populace will back the power outages or that Escom is keen to have the RET faction siphoning off more funds? He must go sooner rather than later.

Maybe we need to learn from Ukraine about keeping a power grid up and running... We can send our Minister across there for a State visit.

….his right….for a change!!! As a SAns what we have to deal with is just too much for any normal citizen in any country!!! If we were at war, I’ll understand, but we’re tax paying, hard working, mostly considerate, understanding people, and we must deal with this government!
