“This is just the beginning,” Blume said. “The EV market in North America is at a turning point and we’re committed to investing across the entire region.” The deal has been signed at a time when the United States, the bigger European economies, Canada and other democratic economies are looking to shift their industries’ supply chains away from China, which dominates the EV industry, and towards friendlier nations.Article content

One of the best examples of this is Washington’s recently passed Inflation Reduction Act , which offers a US$7,500 subsidy for EVs that are made primarily from materials sourced in North America. Should be located in Alberta or Saskatchewan

But it won't be in Alberta. Nobody investing there anymore

Do you think they understand that even if they find a site, it will take 10 to 15 years of regulatory hearings and studies during which time the government of the day will change the rules multiple times. They should commit to consider looking somewhere else.

More Woke BS

Building refrigerators in Nunavut. Yup good idea

Hahahah “We commit to considering” Aka “I’ll keep your resume on file” Now the boot licking begins

Alberta is the best place for a factory of this kind. I invite you to Alberta. Volkswagen

“Commits to considering”

Just think of all the pollution Canada will be responsible for when these batteries reach end of life. Funny how the PM isn't concerned.

Lol. Commits to consider

Ohh.. but.. this is how the polluting Trudeau wants to save the Environment! I wonder... how much $$$$ cut is there for the Libs!

No, thanks! Keep that heavily polluting batteries in your Country, dear Germany!

If the left plays by their own rules/standards, they’ll protest this.

More government bribes coming. More subsidies. Thus more taxes from the already burdened taxpayer in Canada, now at 45% of take home pay, to skyrocket to past 50 soon. And more government bloat to monitor.

WTF does commits to considering mean. There is zero commitment when considering. It boggles the mind.

Probably fantastic news for Ontario.
