Climate Change Summit Leaves Hope for Limiting Global Warming

Governments at COP27 didn’t make deal for sharper cuts in greenhouse-gas emissions, but analysts say 1.7 degrees is achievable

The target of 1.5 degrees Celsius—or 2.7 degrees Fahrenheit—has been the north star of U.N. climate negotiations since it . The deal calls for governments to cut greenhouse-gas emissions to levels that climate scientists estimate can limit warming to well below 2 degrees Celsius compared with preindustrial levels, with the ambition of keeping it below 1.5 degrees.

Warming is better then a freeze plus we will need that ocean water in about 500 years.

China creates the problem and is required to do nothing to solve it. Bamboozled again.

Humans will NEVER control climate change. Period.

The more power republicans gain the less possible these much needed goals will be achieved.

1.5 degrees was arbitrary to begin with. We should absolutely move forward with ways to reduce emissions that make sense and don’t create mass poverty.

They do know that if man wasn't even on the planet, temperature would be above pre-industrial levels? We are still in a warming period coming out of the last ice age. Man is responsible for a small portion of that warming.
