The Shoprite Group is piloting a heavy-duty electric truck as part of its fleet. It doesn't rely on fuel, emits no carbon dioxide, keeps food cool, and glows in the dark.

Shoprite is testing a Scania Battery Electric Vehicle that's 100% electric and equipped with rooftop solar panels.

It's also the first truck to have glow-in-the-dark signage, which"will make it more visible when travelling at night".The Shoprite Group is piloting a heavy-duty electric truck as part of its fleet. The Scania BEV is a refrigerated truck that can hold approximately 16 pallets. It has nine batteries and rooftop solar panels, which also help power the cooling system.
