no one realize the open pit strip mining necessary to get the materials to make the batteries these cars run on? all that mine equipment burns a lot of fossil fuels.

Our family tries pretty hard to help lower our emissions but it’s tough with little kids in the winter especially. A flat carbon tax could be seen as regressive especially for lower income families trying to make ends meet. How would the government ensure families aren’t hurt....

If we can buy a pipeline we can subsidize electric cars. True, a pipeline that will create temp jobs for a bit to get oil to the east coast which we will, in turn, go to the Big Oil companies that aren't situated in Canada which sell the oil anyhow to other countries like the U.S. so they can sell back to Canada for a profit, Too expensive!

When you turn in the those turbo defrosters & turn up the heat, there’s only enough juice to travel 25km. Electric car and extremely cold temperatures don’t work well together.
