DWP consultants have recommended continuing to burn gas at three aging power plants. Clean energy advocates had cheered the utility's announcement last year that it would temporarily halt plans to spend $2.2 billion rebuilding those plants and study climate-friendly alternatives.

What CA - the West - needs to invest in is controlling population growth (which is almost entirely from immigration - and their offspring) - and in water. Leaving man-made climate change off the table, if history repeats itself we could end up with hundreds of years of drought.

California set a goal of 100% clean energy, and now other states may follow its leadIt’s been less than four months since California committed to getting all of its electricity from climate-friendly sources by 2045. But the idea is already catching on in other states. My god, that is ugly. By 2045 we will hit the singularity and be 'living' in virtual reality worlds. Bet ya the wealthy wont want those wind farms near them.
