New research suggests meat production has a far more drastic effect on global climate change than many would like to admit.

For years, meat production and consumption have been identified as potential hazards when it comes to climate change efforts. However, a new study from international researchers suggests being more careful of how meat is processed and prepared is mandatory to reduce how it impacts the environment.

Westernized countries contribute exceptionally high levels of pollution as a subset of meat consuption. There are entire infrastructures dedicated to the beef, pork and chicken industries, with small co-ops and family farms being overshadowed by massive meat conglomerates. . “We are really risking the sustainability of the whole system. If we are interested in people being able to farm and eat, then we better not do that.

"Greening the food sector" comes in a lot of forms. It means finding 'greener' alternatives to technologies used in growing and harvesting crops. It includes developing new ways to produce food that doesn't involve a lot of land for produce. It also means the population should get more adjusted to eating less meat in general. The solution proposed by the researchers is called"flexitarian dieting.

Even when compared to other large scale manufacturing ? Is it the ginormous factory farms and long distance shipping?

This article contains a ludicrous amount of failures and inaccuracies. I know it was posted almost 5 years ago now, but I sincerely hope Shelby Roger’s isn’t working for your company. Would love to see a retraction published.

Wow take engineering out of your name. This is the most anti science, anti evolution thinking I have ever seen. The planet evolved around large amounts of large ungulates roaming the planet. North America had 100 million of them until the govt killed them off

If you think meat production is bad then you be appalled at palm oil production. Whole first growth forest cleared for palms.

Yet another article that does NOT explain in detail WHY meat is so bad for the climate. It just states that it is a fact. Not good enough.

More info can be found here:

Only considered a threat when most of the data is missing. In large grazing fields, the waste from the cows feed wild life, fungus, insects, then the grounds, plants, etc. I’m used meat is converted to animal feed, or composted. Even blood pools can be recycled except FDA/EPA/etc

Climate activists pretending to be a scientist comes with a study to fit their narrative.

🤡

More bullshit, this is meant to be an engineering page not a fake science page

ive been eating meat my whole life. if it hasnt killed us by now its not going to.

May be relevant to

Someone tell me what is wrong with a slight global warming. Shouldn't be building on the coastal areas.

What happens when their predictions are incorrect, blight hits the crops and spark Cannibalism, a leg or an arm till we get back to normal.

This is rubbish who is doing your research not vegans or vegetarians I hope because extremists are not capable of a rational view point. Grass will turn to weeds if it is not grazed so the whole landscape of the world will change and wash away

Hay ikliminize de, o sözde 'yeni araştırmalar'a da 😡😠😡🤬 '...and that is not found in vegetable or fortified foods. But if iron deficiency occurs very early in life, the damage may be irreversible, and it may not be possible to reverse the brain damage with treatment of iron.'

Recent? (2018) Science?!? , if this type of posting isn't the perfect recipe for losing your followers, I don't know what else is.

Get out of here with this crap

SAVE IT

New research huh? Not happening since for the entirety of human history, meat has been and always will be a staple.

They're gonna keep on hammering this narrative until it becomes an accepted 'fact' 🤣

Tide is for laundry, not for the brain.

Then there is no hope.

This site is become a political mouthpiece for “climate change”. I suspects it’s now run by the non-engineers, non-scientists. Too bad. Where is the focus on technology even in climate change?

What exactly does that mean? Will the meat price remain the same and everyone is rationed, or the price is raised so only the rich can afford it? The wealthy will surely want exorbitant meat prices to limit consumption as the prices do not impact their consumption.

F--u--c--k right off. Unfollowed.

Looks like you are talking to the wef

Bollicks, wall to wall fucking bollocks. Far too much bollocks from you these days, so goodbye.

I have suggestion then people on Earth make a far more drastic effect on global climate change. We should depopulate Earth on 90% or more but... for what?

This is foolish. Anyone who loves true science and is honest knows this is absurd what you guys our preaching.

I mean, if you've ever been to a large meat processing plant, that was really obvious to see. These large meat plants have several-kilometer dead-zones all the way around them because the soil they are sitting on is so heavily contaminated and toxic.
