Solar panels will be installed on the roofs of more than 2000 public schools across NSW in a move the state government says could generate enough electricity to power 48,000 homes and save school power bills.
The school would then buy the energy back from the operator under an off-take agreement in a plan Education Minister Sarah Mitchell said would help the state reduce carbon emissions while cutting electricity costs. Combined, the schools are expected to generate up to 145 megawatts of solar energy – which is twice the amount of the Broken Hill Solar Project and 1½ times the amount generated by the Nyngan Solar Farm, the state’s largest.
Is there nothing they won't privatise.
What about safe clean air in all the classrooms & HEPA? COVIDIsAirborne
ElysseMorgan I was part of a team that drafted the first sustainability curriculum back in 2008/2009. As part of the development work we made this case to NSW Capital works then. Imagine if they’d moved on this back then.
