I spoke with Feroz Basa from Sanlam Investments about global valuations and where he sees the next big move. His comment is that money will start leaving the US and will likely find a home in emerging markets . This trend has already started, with many EMs positive over the last year .

Online retail had a ‘great’ pandemic as we moved most of our shopping online. But since life has opened up, we’re seeing pressure on the industry as it reverts back to pre-pandemic levels. I spoke with MyRunway MD Rob Noble about this trend as well as Amazon coming to South Africa next year . Supply chain issues have curtailed new car sales as production has been hit. But this is finally easing, and I spoke with AutoTrader CEO George Mienie on his expectations for used car prices in 2023 and electric vehicle usage in South Africa .

I spoke with TWK Agri CFO Eddie Fivaz on its really strong results, as many macro issues moved in their favour. That said, it has repositioned the business and its strong agri focus – both in production and retail – is paying off, as the sector benefits from strong crop yields .Independent analyst Jimmy Moyaha on MultiChoice numbers, US inflation and China opening up .
