While funders have lauded South Africa's just energy transition partnership as a"model" for other nations to follow, Minister of Forestry, Fisheries and Environment Barbara Creecy has warned against assuming that it is"inevitable".
"I think the jury is out as to whether or not this is a good model," Creecy told News24 during an interview on the sidelines of COP27. The UN climate talks are being held in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, this year. Currently, technical negotiations are under way.
