A meadow of seagrass among Australia's Great Barrier Reef — estimated to be twice the size of New Jersey — is soaking up and storing carbon that would otherwise contribute to global warming.

The paper says that the entire Great Barrier Reef, the stock of organic C to 1 m depth in seagrass meadows is 27.4 million tons. If this were all oxidized today, it would be equivalent to an additional day of fossil-fuel emissions. Not significant in solving the climate problem.

Nature can adapt...LIES!!!

JonahNRO Nooooooooooooooooooooooo! The future of human habitation on Earth depends on continued warming.

JonahNRO Nature is solving the problem, but still give us more tax money

JonahNRO Ah, the crawfishing begins. A ready explanation for when the predictions of doom do not materialize.

JonahNRO Ya’ll found that grass 5 minutes ago, and now it has moved to the top of ‘must save to stall GW’ list. I am impressed that you resisted the urge to take a swipe at Trump in that article.

another crap story written to support a false agenda.

What climate change might that be?

'could change' Wheaties for breakfast could change..... Fake news, again, from NPR.

maybe I don't want the world to be saved, humans doesn't deserve this planet. Flora and fauna do.

Trump to the world… “The USA is going to mine coal in Australia’s bed of deep sea grass.”

Seems to me much could be gained from Carbon Capture.

JonahNRO Every time we discover nature taking care of itself, quietly doing its own thing, environmentalists find an opportunity to 'protect' something by spending a bunch of taxpayer money on it. Like getting the money is maybe more important than the sea grass.

Huge blue carbon sink discovered in Great Barrier Reef could be warding off climate changeDeep-water seagrass covers an area twice the size of New Jersey and stores 28 million tonnes of blue carbon. I hope so. It seems like it's the only thing warding off climatechange. Because humans sure aren't. Smh It's a great finding but the Great Barrier Reef itself is threatened by the rise of temperatures and acidification of sea waters.

The United States isn’t the only country downplaying climate changeFrom Brazil to Australia, other world leaders and politicians deny climate science and fight efforts to cut carbon emissions. The United states is doing many things to address it. Just ask Krugman. In this case I do not feel sorry for any devastation in those countries. Let Mother Nature do what he knows best to wake people UP.

Climate change is causing extreme weatherExtreme weather events that spanned the globe in 2017 have been directly linked to -- and in some cases were even caused by -- continued warming of the planet via human influence through greenhouse gas emissions, according to a new report. The very migrants that Trump is so freaked out about are victims of the climate crisis. There are going to be more and more of them. Federal irresponsibility on the issue means our livestyles have to change. Where will we run as the ruin increasingly affects us? Liberals: we can control and predict the weather. Also Liberals: there are 87 genders. Which bathroom should I use. The lie the left keeps pushing, Fake news the enemy of the people.
