Stacey Solomon says she may struggle to pay her energy bills this winter

Following the rise in the energy price cap, Stacey Solomon has admitted that she may struggle to pay her energy bills this winter.

The cap rose on October 1, with Government intervention ensuring the cap remained at an average of £2,500 a year after initially been increased to more than £3,000 by Ofgem. The X Loose Women star shares her £1.2m home Pickle Cottage with new husband Joe Swash and their children – Zachary, Leighton, Rex, Harry, and Rose, The Daily Record reports.

Speaking to the Guardian, Stacey said: "If our energy bill doubles, then it might well be beyond our means in the future. I’m not saying it is the same for us as someone on the breadline, ’cos it blooming well isn’t. But it’s such a scary time." Stacey is just one of millions of people in the UK worrying about money, and whether or not they will be able to pay their bills this winter. She continued: "How have we allowed the country to get to this point? How can the government not be prepared for it?"
