Re: “Texas leads nation in school book bans, new report shows,” Tuesday Metro & Business story.

What does it mean for the future of our state and our great country if we, as a society, lose sight of the fact that it is easier to build strong children than to repair broken adults?Re: “For Banned Books Week, hone sense of humor — Laughter, the emotion that threatens orthodoxy most, runs through Rushdie’s ‘Satanic Verses’,” by Seemee Ali, Tuesday Opinion.

This letter is specifically addressed to any elected official or eligible voter who identifies as Republican. If Ken Paxton were a Democrat, would your deafening silence over indictments continue? I’m a firm believer in turning the other cheek or other similar platitudes, but come on. This unwavering support of Paxton, just because he is a Republican, is making me and other moderates in the state hesitant to vote for any Republican come November.Re: “Texas’ energy future is at risk — Legislators must boost wind, solar while incentivizing ‘dispatchable’ power,” Sunday editorial.
