Auto maker requires dealers who want to sell its electric models to ditch haggling and invest in chargers
Empty dealer lots, above-sticker prices and online sales—supply-chain issues and a shift toward electric vehicles have accelerated changes in the car-buying process. The Dearborn, Mich., car company said Wednesday that to sell Ford ’s EVs, dealers must enroll in new programs that are designed to support the rollout of battery-powered models.
Can't wait for all of those 0 mile 'used' Ford EVs to come on market at $25k above MSRP. After what's happened with the GT500, I'll need to see some proof this works before I consider buying a new Ford again.
Baby boomers & Gen X ruined every good economic business model created post WWII. Their greed & narcissism led to collapse of auto industry (needing bailouts), & manufacturing base (outsourcing). The devastation to communities in the rust belt led way to opioid crisis.
All they're doing to mimicking Tesla's sales model, which owns all is dealerships. If greed & mismanagement (on both manufacturer & dealer side) didn't ruin everything, you could argue independent sellers are good for local economies.
I have never paid manufacturers list price for any new vehicle and I don’t plan on changing my MO in the future.

Won't this just deter dealerships.................
