Different jockey, same horse. It is hard to see what new tricks Liz Truss has up her sleeve. | ANALYSIS by Rob Harris

Different jockey, same horse. It is hard to see what new tricks Liz Truss has up her sleeve.

She has a little more than two years to convince voters she has more ideas than that the cabinet she’s been a part of for more than eight. But any focus on winning an election in December 2024 would be a gross disserve to a nation which is, right now, sleepwalking into chaos. While Truss and her former cabinet colleague, Rishi Sunak, toured the UK in an indulgent six-week talkfest, the majority of voters were left with the reality of a country that is hardly working right now.

And that’s just the problem on day one. The looming energy crisis – of soaring bills and potential supply shortfalls – is promising a grim winter. The priority will be keeping the lights on at home, but experts have warned there is the risk of blackouts. And all these are just the problems we know about. There’s an old saying in politics that it’s the crisis you don’t see coming that hits hardest.

WEF Muppet When will people realise they are selected not elected?

Their whole government needs to go then it will be a better, safer place for people. We got rid of our poisonous PM and his government and things are looking up.

She’s been in the job 5 minutes. How would a half baked FakeNews reporter know what tricks Truss has?
