Utah youths and volunteers staged a “die-in” to call for immediate action to protect the Great Salt Lake.

the Wasatch Front faces as the lake shrinks. She said it helped her better understand the dire situation.

in their latest general session. But to many of the students at Saturday’s funeral for the lake, policymakers are not doing enough to meet the moment. They “never really had a chance existing in a system that was built to work against them,” Walia said. “The Great Salt Lake never really had a chance.”

“With so many arising problems, we all know there are just as many solutions,” Walia continued. “But greed, control and ignorance are keeping our voices for the Great Salt Lake smothered. If we do not raise awareness now and force our government, those in power, to pay attention to us, our youth, we will be paying the price.”

I do agree we need to get our lake back. I think it is the main cause of the drought we are in. I think an easy solution would be to pump some ocean water in its one of the few lake where we could do this.

Woke kids = stupid kids. They are good for a laugh though.

Sorry kids but we have a corrupt Governor who has an alfalfa farm.

It's sad that the adults in their lives have taught them they can change the climate. For some reason people think that the earth is somehow supposed to be a stable environment forever. It has never been stable...never. Hint, it's about money.

I would support ending free water for agriculture, which accounts for ~90% of our water use. jimmy4utah utpol

Wait... We get dead city dwelling pawns of Marxism & more agriculture? Deal.

I guess it was a peaceful protest

Alfalfa - livestock - food in the grocery store. Utah values alfalfa *because* it values your life, nitwit.

Good on our youth. Our legislators are preoccupied with forced births & whether girls who win in sports are girl enough so keep in their faces. Be loud. Be seen.

Wow this is really really stupid.

Register to vote when at age. Vote blue, only blue.

Thank you for taking action! TomVargheseJr

We got a call from some excited kids, and, yeah, we sent out a photographer what the hell

I hope they didn't inhale any of the mercury or lead while they were out there. 💁🏻‍♂️
