The debate over how much access to trails, if any, electric bicycles should be given has led to near-fist fights on some paths in Colorado

DENVER — as communities grapple with clashing opinions over their off-road use.

The Colorado Sun reports e-bike advocates have long touted them as a safe, environmentally friendly way to extend the promise of the outdoors to those unable to navigate trails on traditional bikes, including older riders and the disabled. But critics compare e-bikes to motorcycles and fear they could pit other trail users against cyclists in general, jeopardizing hard-fought trail access for mountain bikes.

Just allow the ones that weren’t charged with coal power.

Ebikes should be allowed the same as regular bikes. Trails need to be clearly marked too.

I couldn't care less if e-bikes are on the trail but I'm certainly not going to pull over every 10 seconds to let one after another zoom by me.

I like that ebikes give more people access to trails and the outdoors. They don’t do any more wear to trails than horses in terms of weight. I think the only legitimate argument against Ebikes on trails is the fire due due to the batteries

Same people that didn't want anyone else on the trails unless they had a mask on. Liberal laws bring liberal problems. Tell the radical left to pound sand!

Keep Ebikes off trails. Period.

Bike people have the ultimate shut-the-door-behind-them mentality (often times an entitled DBaggy group, too) You've taken enough 🚗 lanes - deal with it.

They’re bikes, people pedal just as fast, calm down
