Then on Thursday, Electric Ireland announced electricity and gas prices of 26.7 per cent and 37.5 per cent respectively.

Can’t read the article, but if the answer isn’t that we privatised energy supply and the companies are enjoying record profits then the article is pointless.
Supply/Demand......if you close coal power plants, ban peat, refuse to invest in gas/oil exploration or nuclear while investing all our money in useless wind/solar......prices will rise. The climatescam is a road to misery and ruin, which is all quite intentional.
