If the Government is serious about people retrofitting their homes, low or zero interest loans are the way to goThe Government has a problem with renewables, and the current crisis is throwing it into sharp relief. It’s not that this and previous governments repeatedly failed to allow for the investment required in our grid infrastructure or been willing to see it through over the protests of vested interests, though all that is true.

There are whole swathes of people in this State who never buy a new car – many of them on cost grounds – never mind an electric vehicle that costs even more. That’s before even taking into account the cost of the charging point they need to install to run it.

Correction needed here. €2,400 is maximum grant for Solar PV only; there are other grants for insulation, heat pumps etc; €2,400 is not an overall grant limit.

IrishTimes No health & safety on that roof

Is there anybody who can suggest small solar panels for apartments,small wind turbines for houses. Everything is about the Seai grants but small might charge our phones,run our computers and many small things?
