As we all try to help reduce strain on the power grid by limiting the use of electricity, many are wondering why, in this day and age, we have to be concerned about not running the dish washer during a hot day Just a week ago, California Air Resources Board approved a plan that would ban the sale of gas powered vehicles in 2035. The question that still remains is are we ready for all-electric transportation?

It won’t be so bad. It’s only the sale of gas vehicles that are banned, which means after 2035 people will start maintaining their non-electric cars way beyond their usual lifespan. Pretty soon CA will look like Cuba, with the streets filled with the equivalent of 1950s jalopies.
I heard it cost $26.00 to charge a car, why would I give up my gas car, I get better mileage even at $5.00 a gallon.

Betting on Solar and Electric cars at the same time is pretty foolish; unless these cars can charge from abundant solar grid at noon (as opposed to typical in the dark evenings) it accelerates the need for solar or fossil fuel for electricity.

Yes, because excess greenhouse gases, caused mostly from burning fossil fuels, make the world hotter. And we have cleaner renewable energy now to replace them. We need to get to those solutions quickly before the vicious cycles of climate change make fixing it improbable. Simple.
