“Thirdly, we did examine and look at the issue of a windfall tax. That matter will be examined and various ministers are working on that issue. Fourthly, we discussed the need for a campaign led by Government to work on energy reduction issue because all of us collectively must now seek to be more energy efficient because the prices are so high, to do everything we can to reduce our consumption of energy.

Soon a politician will have to be found tied and stripped to a lamppost.

Croney capitalism is how Ireland is run. They don't know how to do anything else.

Never mind the windfall tax. Just revoke their license to trade. Move back to a state supplier. The privatisation experiment has failed miserably.

Why are they taxing the very suppliers we need more than ever right now?

The only thing they are doing is destroying the country for sinn fein to deal with and lining their own pockets before they exist for the bunkers. They should be tried for treason.

well get it done and make it irreversible before Varadkar is Taoiseach again!

Imagine if you voted for him? Would you do it again?

Weren't Globalisation and Privatisation wonderful ideas. Sell off any control you have to the highest bidder. Then they demand Anal fornication from you. Thank Christ we told the government what to do with water charges

So let me get this straight, energy companies have free reign to charge what they want, but the taoiseach is giving them a windfall tax to tell us how our eldery parents can freeze efficently.....I have entered the twilight zone...how in the name of God does he think this is sane

A windfall tax will do nothing, they suppliers will just pass on the cost of the tax to the customer

Wouldn't you love to,Wouldn't you just love to.

Are they going to tax themselves?
