The CRU is set to tell the Committee how it is working to bring new generation capacity onto the grid. In a statement, Eirgrid said that, since 2018, 650 megawatts of new power has been withdrawn from the system and has not delivered “capacity to the electricity grid”. The Government has launched a review into the energy supply concerns that have accelerated in recent months, after a number of system alerts were issued by Eirgrid over the summer.
Speaking to The Journal last week, TD Barry Cowen said that the Department of the Environment, Eirgrid and the CRU are “all asleep at the wheel”, adding that the generation shortage “has now spiralled out of control”.
He is a threat to national security, this crisis was flagged 3/4 years ago and instead to trying to fix the issues he has/is making them worse
Its clowns like this that have caused the problem
Be handy if we still had our peat power plants, but no we be better off in the dark. Complete bollox
You have to hand to him. In a world full of completely incompetent clownish politicians. Eamon is the king.
He needs to be asked to name one thing out of everything he says is being done to prevent outages, and looking at shouldn't count.
Get him to reopen the power stations he closed
Make sure to wake him up first
This fucker should be in prison for destroying Irelands energy with his pipe dreams.
