Europe is “badly” in need of gas supply as most of its nations have retired too much of their baseload generation for renewable energy, Sky News host Chris Kenny says.“There’s no doubt the Ukraine war and the impact on Russian gas supplies and prices is a factor that is exacerbating Europe’s pain,” he said.
“But in the main, the problem is that most European nations have retired too much baseload generation, mainly coal of course, and they’ve pushed too hard on boosting renewable energy. “It can’t do the job, and simply never will unless there is an unthinkable breakthrough in effective and efficient electricity storage.”
But don't mention the war in Ukraine
This tweet is about profit - nothing else. Murdoch Media is a foreign agent that pays no tax & deflects from the LNP & other bin fires they created. taxbludger They fool the weak minded for profit. Believing Murdoch is not freedom it is just dumb.
Should Read Europe is regretting not acting faster on transitioning to renewables so it would not be dependent on foreign governments & greedy monopolies for it's energy!
More click bait energy nonsense from Sky. They are dependent on gas because they retired coal for gas.
Australia will be in that same predicament in a few years time.
It's the unexpected transition period as world moves away from dirty fossil fuel Lessons will be learnt, strides made to shed dependency of this old troublesome mineral that cursed the world from wars to inflations Laggards who listen to the Mordoch stooges will lose most.
They need it because Russia has curbed supply during a war that even Chris, with his crystal ball, didn't see coming a year ago. Not news, just Sky noise from another Sky mouthpiece.
Kenny should send PMOnAir over to Europe he has more gas than Russia and Iran combined
