Mr Kenny said Australia’s energy ministers had a duty of “making sure our energy supplies are as reliable and affordable as possible,” but this was contravened by their duties as climate ministers. “As climate ministers, these same people are charged with reducing the emissions from energy, which of course is what has made our electricity less reliable and more expensive,” he said.
“The climate and energy ministers are like fire and water ministers, chalk and cheese ministers, ministers for brakes and accelerators.”

I agree it is a conflict, I get we need action on climate, but we also need 24/7 generation. The govt say their target is 80% renewable so that other 20% at this stage has to be fossil fuels. I'm not sure when they will stop using fossil fuels but it looks like more than 10 yrs.
