It is urgent that Congress pass major investments in climate and clean energy as soon as possible, before the damage becomes irreversible.

As severe storms and extreme heat continue to roll though Central Pennsylvania this month, Congress continues to stall on solutions to the climate crisis throughout the country. Superstorms destroy our coasts, droughts plague our agricultural industry, and wildfires continue to grow bigger and harder to extinguish in the West.

President Joe Biden is working with Congress to pass a bipartisan bill supported by more than 60% of voters that will be critical to reducing carbon pollution, increasing energy efficiency in appliances and homes, and jumpstarting our transition to clean energy. Making these changes will help us tackle the climate crisis while also cleaning up our air, protecting our health, and creating millions of jobs in the clean energy economy.

However, we need Congress to act now and pass the biggest and boldest climate investments possible, not only to ensure that the worst effects of climate change are avoided, but also provide benefits from these investments to the communities that have already been damaged by the climate crisis. The science is clear - the United States needs 100% renewable energy, for our climate, our health, and our future. It is urgent that Congress pass major investments in climate and clean energy, and I encourage them to do so as soon as possible, before the damage becomes irreversible.Note to readers: if you purchase something through one of our affiliate links we may earn a commission.
