Energy bills for a typical household could hit £4,266 next year, consultancy Cornwall Insight has warned.
"We cannot stop others from making predictions but we would ask that extreme caution is applied to any predictions for the price cap in January or beyond."will receive that £400 to help with rising fuel bills this autumnBut Dr Lowrey called on the government to use the latest predictions of higher bills to review the support package.
He says that last year they were paying 12p per unit for electric underfloor heating. That has now risen to 30p per unit. Conservative leadership candidate Rishi Sunak has said he would provide more money to help people with their energy bills, if he becomes prime minister.
People need to put their own generators using hydrogen to fuel them and then those evil blighters who are hyping up prices for their own greed can then go broke I am already started working on one.
Just because they increased the price cap why does it mean they have to increase it so much 🤔
Why don't the government just retake all energy companies back into public ownership problem solved, stop foreign countries owning them and holding us to ransom
Remember the energy companies have been making record profits already. New PM will cap energy costs at £X and be a hero/heroine without actually doing anything 😂 all the while making more money…
How come France has capped energy price increases at 4% and in the UK the government has taken no action
Because we have no energy resources after refusal to develop efficient conservation cared for resources having burned all the surface ones on wars and high speed trends to disaster Politics
Scandalous!!!
houses are to big , to high a ceiling , no backbone to deal with the weather , think how your grand parents lived , Big coat , no luxuries , cheap living ! life will be fine
Why is the government letting that happens? Why can't we just block it? We don't take energy from Russia, we are not in EU?
friendly reminder: the ukrainian flag in the profile raises the temperature of the house by an average of 10 degrees Celsius ☝️
Disgusting!
they're gonna get a nasty shock when people refuse to pay them.
Why?
Whats driving the price rise to these extents. Its madness
Ive got no extra money coming in we live hand to mouth, im tied into contracts that i have to see out like broadband, mobiles, but they'll be gone when i can ditch them, they haven't quadrupled their prices yet, trying to decide whats important food, heating or getting to work!!
Capitalism is a miserable failure as in a time of crisis it incentivises capitalists to use markets to rip off millions, simple as, end of story. Take the energy companies back into public ownership, use profits from them to rid us of them, via renewable community generation.
Ofgem is an unofficial department of the government open your eyes
These projections are based on the average energy consumption from the previous 12 months before the crisis. They don't account for people reducing their energy consumption in order to keep payments down. I've planned a 50% cut for this comming winter.
Over 4K, and are the companies still going to project Billions in profit? It’s just wrong.
What is it that stops the government from lowering the cap?
