The Aboitiz Group’s renewable energy arm bagged a grant from the United States Trade and Development Agency to conduct a feasibility study for offshore wind projects in the Philippines.

The grant was awarded to Aboitiz Renewables Inc., a subsidiary of Aboitiz Power Corp., to look into the possibility of developing up to three gigawatts of offshore wind projects.

The study aims to identify potential project sites and provide technical and economic analysis for 3GW of wind turbine generation projects, which could power over 2 million homes in the country. “Our goal is to work with US industry to facilitate the delivery of clean energy to millions of Filipinos,” she added.
