One of the Independent Power Plants in Nigeria, Ibom Power Plc has urged the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) to change the electric cables from Aba

in Abia State to Itu in Akwa Ibom State which have not been reconductored since 1978 it was installed.

Etukudo said that the existing 191 Megawatt of the company was capable of providing steady electricity in the State but for the old cables of TCN. “Ibom Power has 191 MW installed capacity, a power that can carry the whole of this State without getting power from anywhere if it runs. “The line from Aba in Abia State to Itu in Akwa Ibom owned by TCN has not been reconductored and these are lines built in 1978. They are 150mm and have not been changed since 1978.
