McTeague tells CTV News Ottawa the drop in gas prices in Ottawa and Ontario is linked to a big drop in demand in the United States.McTeague is expecting another drop in gas prices in Ottawa and Ontario on Saturday.
Prices dropped below $2 a litre on July 1, in part because of the Ontario government's decision to cut the gas tax for six months.According to ottawagasprices.com, the average price of gasoline was $1.26 a litre one year ago.
Since it's already lower than that, does that mean a further 4 cents, or they're going back up to $1.749? Kind of odd you'd quote an exact price. Several stations are under $1.70 already.
But it was lower than that today......in Kanata....
I saw $1.69 at a Petro Canada yesterday, and a $1.78 at an Esso a few blocks away. It reminded me of gasoline price wars back in the early 80s. Remember those?
