Ahead of stage six being implemented, the opposition claimed blackouts highlighted “the failures of the ANC government, and in particular a string of energy ministers and Eskom war rooms.” He said the government has gone the extra mile by instituting a supplementary programme to make up for the shortcomings at Eskom.

But Public Enterprises doesn't deal with energy, which falls under his portfolio. P. Enterprises is not only shareholder in Eskom, but in SAA, Denel, & a host of other troubled public companies who should be contributing to the fiscus, but were hollowed out by years of looting.

Actually no. Only the minister may authorize different sources of energy. It is GwedeMantashe1 and his Chief Economist (both of whom don’t understand the technicalities involved) which are against renewables. They want more coal and nuclear, which will take more than 10 years.

He is the chairperson of the Anc that controls Eskom, he must not shift the blame. It was the Anc decision as the party to fire Koko in 2018 and deployed a bank teller, taxi boss and other useless deployees including the current guys.
