Mr Bowen was questioned why he backed the capacity mechanism and didn’t engage the safeguard mechanism to avoid creating a separate policy.
“The last few weeks have reminded anybody who needed reminding that we need that safety net,” he said. “Under us, it will be utterly consistent with our emissions reduction target, it will support new technologies, it will support new generation, it will support storage.”
Why are the solar panels blocking the ground when they could be on house roofs. No long distance transmission lines. Better security. Never forget coal plants with scrubbers that remove 80% of CO2.
In other words. Govts shutting down coal mines, coal power and phasing out gas… renewables can’t fill the gap. Better keep gas alive to cover renewables when they fail to deliver, which they will.
No idea have you chris

The only 'sustainable' energy source is nuclear, we have unlimited remote coastlines and piles of uranium. That can make AU an energy power. But instead we want to kill our lands to install wind turbines to capture the birds farts and turn on a 100W lamp for 1 hr at night
Bullshit, we have a generation problem, not a capacity problem.
Yet this wasn’t an issue 2 months ago?
The hoax goes on
When you tell energy companies their services will no longer be required by 2030 that's the problem. To call it a capacity problem really means the government doesn't have the capacity to manage the energy problem.
We have a government incompetence problem. We have a nation full of resources and a small population. The problem here is the Leftist Climate Zealots and their foreign masters
