It could be cheaper than washing by hand

Irish households are becoming more and more expensive to run, with recent price hikes affecting the cost of filling the fridge, running a car and keeping up with chores.

READ MORE: Experts highlight four key money saving tips as cost of living continues to soar in Ireland Any home that is fitted with a dishwasher likely uses it on a daily basis, and according to Bonkers, this costs an average of €0.46 per day to run, based on one 65 degree cycle. Calculations show that running tap uses about six litres of water a minute, whereas new standard-sized dishwashers use, on average, 12 litres of water per cycle, only using and heating the exact amount needed.
