Frustrated business owners are reporting having more fridges than they asked for delivered under a state government energy-saving scheme, with the regulator warning it was cracking down on the 'completely unacceptable' conduct by private operators.

"We are aware of instances of large numbers of refrigerated cabinets being dumped on the street or provided to customers who don't want them," a statement from the Essential Services Commission said.

"We will not be progressing the registration of Victorian energy efficiency certificates for multiple installations of refrigerated cabinets while we investigate this behaviour as an urgent priority," the statement read.

Like the replacement shower head, LED light program and the Energy Monitor installation program they are out of control and subject to rorts. As usual it sounds like a good idea then it goes pear shaped - VictorianLabor

Can't even do that right. What a waste

Dozens on EBAY

This Andrews Government is the biggest failure we have ever seen in this country, every single thing they do they stuff up, and to throw away perfectly good fridges is so bad for the world, all of that waste and replaced with crap quality newer ones no doubt from China..

Typically of all the Government 'green' programs.... they just give the crooked to scam the tax payer.

Feel free to dump some wine fridges this way :-) … or if you have any and want to make a quick sale 😁 🍷
