Official data reveals heightened concern among households about the rising cost of living.

More than half of UK homes have reduced the amount of gas and electricity they use as worries about the cost of living grow, new data shows.also found that high numbers of people are spending less on food.

The ONS said around three-quarters of households were "somewhat worried" or "very worried" about growing costs. Higher manufacturing and supply costs are lifting food prices. The war in Ukraine, which is a major provider of grains and fertilizer globally, has had a major impact.

I'm not cutting back on food. I'm just buying cheaper meat ie I cooked stuffed pig hearts last week, sausages are cheap etc I know this will upset some people but that's life!!

I've certainly turned my heating down recently
