The problem is that with the government advocating for no coal, there is no incentive for power companies to maintain the power plants. They won't be resold so it's dead money for them to spend money on maintenance. Government need to incentivise maintenance with grants.
Victoria will face challenges as it exits coal by early 2030s. Madness, really.
Everyone wants to save the planet but there is no policy or structure to energy transition. Companies will not invest in maintenance of assets if there is no future. All the noise makers are rich and have no idea what price the poor Consumers pay for this.
