There are approved designs for modular reactors on a smaller scale that can be duplicated and not huge one off types. No need to reinvent the wheel. As usual regulation and politics keep this from happening. Why we don't have an answer to long term nuclear waste storage.

You mean get to know the history of nuclear power? Look up Oakridge National laboratory. They had one of these operating for years in the 40's. We've had energy solutions for decades but politicians wanted nukes and power.
I think nuclear power is definitely a double edged sword. Sure, it can prove to be very beneficial when considering emissions. But will it be safe to make nuclear power such a normal part of our every day lives?
