Its new proposed rule would require the half-million electric vehicle chargers it plans to fund to be interoperable, similar to the way a gas pump works with any vehicle. Charging stations funded under the federal program would also be open to anyone -- prohibiting any membership requirements -- and set a common standard for payment and other technologies. The charging stations would be built along America's highways.
In August of last year, the President announced a target that half of vehicles sold in the country by 2030 will be battery electric, fuel-cell electric or plug-in hybrid. The new initiative is part of the administration's effort to ensure electric charging accessibility for all Americans and to target the key concerns preventing drivers from buying electric vehicles.
RSSterrorists
Nobody is using them! Nobody can afford the vehicles! Nobody it is a waste of money! I couldn't believe where they placed the ones I saw in a lower income neighborhood! They have never been used yet and will sit there forever ugly ass things
This is a very key element from various perspectives.
care to remind your audience that the median range for EVs is now ~250 miles, that the average commute is ~25 miles (50 round trip), & that EVs can be charged at home through a standard electrical outlet? Perhaps alleviate unwarranted 'consumer anxiety' by reporting facts.
How about getting the gas flowing instead of licking the boots of the Green Party azzhats
then better start building nuclear power plants
So do it
Hopefully, they will invite Tesla to the discussion this time.
Good.
We have types of electric power generation which is renewable energy like hydro electricity, tidal, nuclear reactors, nuclear fission and nuclear fission, solar energy, not thermal
Good we need more EVgo charging stations.
How about the American government subsidizing all Elec charging stations, just covering operating costs, to incentivize car buyers to switch to EV? Gas bills would become a thing of the past within 10 years.
I would like to see this too but I also want my wallet back in the mean time. It’ll be five years before I can buy an EV or Hubrid. God, I miss my old VW Jetta TDI right now.
Seems logical, fuel nozzles already seem to be a standard dimension
'To support the transition to electric vehicles, we must build a national charging network that makes finding a charge as easy as filling up at a gas station,' said Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg. I call BS! People spend just a few minutes at a gas station.
Funny how biden haters are screaming about an extra $180 a month in gas as if it is the presidents fault but are super comfortable buying more guns and ammo and also own big gas guzzlers.
