U.S. Government Report Warns of Economic Losses From Climate ChangeThe impact of global climate change could cause U.S. economic losses totaling hundreds of billions of dollars per year by the end of the century, says a new U.S. government report. The climate has always been changing. Climate change is a factual certainty. The longer we ignore it, the less able we will be to mitigate its effects. Look no further than the natural gas boom, and fugitive methane from wells and pipelines for one of the biggest sources of climate changing pollutants. Would be nice if China and India cared about the environment and did as much as the US does to protect it

U.S. government to release major report on climate change later FridayThe U.S. government is planning to release a major report on climate change later Friday, raising concerns that it will garner less attention than usual on one of the busiest shopping days of the year. The report is Volume II of the National Climate Assessment and will analyze the impact of global climate change on topics and regions of the U.S., according to GlobalChange.gov. Topics include water, energy supply, delivery and demand, forests, ecosystems, coastal effects and air quality, among others. The regional analyses will include the U.S. Caribbean and Hawaii and Pacific Islands. The report is expected to be as damning as the first volume, which found that Earth is rapidly warming because of human activity, and the impact, such as the recent California wildfires, will get worse. Tarawa Island is a mystery. No sea level elevation change since WW2, but still getting hammered by ocean, so question is, is it water and air currents and storms, or poor elevation measurements? It could take 50-100 years to get G20 to actually reverse or normalize climate. But, it only takes 6 months to pass fire prevention laws and distribute 20 million chain saws and rakes.
