ANALYSIS: Australia's 'climate wars' have been raging for a decade. So will science have a say on Saturday?

According to the ABC’s Vote Compass, more people list it as their, so if you're one of those factoring the climate into your vote, it's worth knowing what's on offer. It was then that Australia's notorious "climate wars" really kicked into gear.

The resulting policy inconsistency has even caught the attention of the world's climate scientists, with the most recent Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change report — a sober and entirely apolitical document— identifying Australia's "lack of consistent policy direction" as a "key risk" for the country as it navigates the impacts of climate change.

have you even read my climate science documents I sent you yet? No one is going to talk about them if you don’t even read them. Do your job.

Carbon tax, a BS money making venture that does nothing for climate.

'the target is 'highly insufficient', and consistent with a catastrophic 3 degrees Celsius of global warming' Wouldn't that depend on what the rest of the world did? Eg if US and China went to zero emmisions by 2030 would our small amount of emmisions really get us to 3 degrees?

Taxation is not the solution. Solution is bring in appropriate pollution Laws and enforcing them. Also put the onus on those countries that caused the problem in the first place.

Left wing Opinion masquerading as analysis, when will this juggernaut be broken up NotMyABC

My god, l hope so!

According to science, we have too many human's on this planet. So please, stop ...

That moment when - conservatives have to admit that a decade ago Labor was right ... and having blocked action on climate change - it is considerably harder to act now, BUT MUST BE DONE .

Need to get someone from the FusionPartyAus on.

Australians are just whinging babies who expect government to do everything, how about you all start making change at home..

I think it was the 1958 film Indiscreet that Cary Grant's character was talking about how there was talk of the world warming up and the climate was changing. 62 years ago. ClimateChange

The American Murdoch Crime Family's News Corp began undermining the science of climate change in Australia in the late 1990s. The political climate war might be only 10 years old, but the Murdochs have been rewarding anti-science politicians for at least 30 years.

Global Warming is clearly having a say anyway. Perhaps ScoMo the Bulldozer can divert some of the floodwaters in Queensland and NSW - or use his imaginary subs to relocate the low lying areas of the Solomons. I expect China will be happy to add a few islands?

I wonder what voters in Morrison's electorate of Cook think about having a proven liar and cheat for a representative and do they care that they have become the biggest laughing stock for supporting the liar.

“Science” again? Huh

Science says Australia’s emissions have no impact whatsoever on the climate . Science also says there is NO CLIMATE CRISIS.

These so called climate wars are only in the ABC journalists heads. The majority of Aussies agree on climate change but have different strategies. I am ok with both major parties promises on climate change I completely disagree with most of the minor parties and independents.

I hope so because everyone needs to vote as there home is on fire. This is planet Earth.

If you want more of the 'climate change' crap, vote for Labor and Greens

'Raging' on the in the heads of stupid and idle elites

Pastime for the rich elites

They have been raging for longer than a decade. Where has the ABC been hiding? PutLNPLast

ABC tree-huggers peddling their crap..

We had 'climate change' elections in 2019, remember?

The science says if Australia stops all fossil fuels and basically deindustrialises it would make zero difference to global emissions.
