Canada could add over a million barrels per day of oil export capacity to the United States over the next two years, Alberta Premier Jason Kenney told a U.S. Senate committee on Tuesday.
The Canadian government has previously said Canada could increase oil exports via pipeline by 300,000 bpd by the end of this year. “Alberta can be a huge part of the solution to the problem of American energy inflation and the cost of living crisis,” Kenney said, adding the province is the largest source of U.S. energy imports, providing 60% of oil and gas imports.
Canada exports around 3.8 million bpd of oil to the United States and until recently faced pipeline constraints that left crude bottlenecked in Alberta and discouraged some international energy companies from investing in the province.
jkenney We failed to build a pipeline through other provinces so before we run for the senate let's clean our own house.

Helping oil last longer makes sense. Oil companies need to become energy companies and support choice that help in-ground energy resource, their source of employment and capital, last longer.
How about building a refinery that can process tar sand oil? Creating construction then permanent jobs in Alberta instead of Louisiana abpoli
Kenny sucks
Canadian politicians should speak to political issues - not act as taxpayer funded salespeople for industry. How can Alberta oilandgas be the answer to US energy inflation when it can't tackle that issue here in Canada? Embarrassing cap in hand 'mission'.
