The developing “National Adaptation Strategy” to fight climate change includes no overall price tag or solid commitments yet, but floats a series of proposed goals

OTTAWA—Atmospheric rivers that unleash destructive torrents of rain. Historic floods. Deadly heat domes and raging wildfires with smoke that hazes out the sun.

The government also suggests more money should be devoted to emergency services and disaster risk-reduction, that biodiversity loss should be stopped and reversing by 2030, and that all infrastructure should be “climate-resilient” by 2050, a term that could mean resistant to melting permafrost in the far north or buildings in southern Canada made from materials that can handle extreme temperature fluctuations.

“We do not yet know what the costs are going to be,” said one senior government official, who briefed journalists on the strategy Monday on condition they weren’t named.

Climate change is the easiest excuse to help with the reset.

Well as long as it hurts the poor the most and then they vote left for handouts it will be successful

What an f'n joke. We're adding about 300,000 Cdns/year. On average each creates 15 tonnes of CO2/yr For 300K that's 4.5 million more tonnes/year. Planting 2 billion trees in 10 yrs can't keep up with that + biomass loss for development & a lowering of everyone's quality of life.

Just political , nothing will change weather wise or are our leaders gods?

Experts. 😂 Climate has been changing since time immemorial. This is not news. If we could just find the way to prove climate change. And use all the actual science to do it. I miss science. I miss grade 8. It was the last time scientist used science to science things. Fawk.
