closing all the power stations down, what a good idea where does power come from to charge these BUSES , diesel generators ?, it is laughable,we should employ a couple of guys from BFC , THEY KNOW more about generating power than than these GOV idiots

MeckeringBoy Why not just say what the buses actually are? They're electric buses.

woodsimon66 How long do the batteries last, what is their max distance travellable, are the batteries the new glass lithium polymer design that has many thousands or charge and discharge cycles before reaching 80% of its original capacity, and are from what I know fire resistant?

Only as clean as the Power that's charging it.

Bozzo is giving his corporate mates our very last dollar before we kick him out and then even when his own party can't stomach his lying anymore and give him his marching orders those corporate mates will look after him for accommodating them,it how politics work here.

Cant they just clean the old ones? Sounds like an expensive cleaner

The buses may be clean, but the production of energy to charge them is anything but.

How can anyone claim that electric buses in perth will be clean,we do not have nuclear power plants nor do we have renewable base load power,we rely on coal fired power, and the more electric vehicles and devices we have the more coal we will burn, stick with gas for now

Which proves they have no idea of clean, electric buses charged from coal power is a BS political exercise and gains nothing

You know Brisbane was the first place to manufacture electric buses in Australia. Let’s just hope Australians will build these electric buses maybe that’s a stretch.

Is there an expiry date for buses that are not using adblue? They're the main polluters in fleets atm.

On a full battery they can travel about 400 kilometres and take about 6 hours to charge. So they still have limitations but city routes should be no problem. 👍

The major parties are pledging money hand over fist. Sounds to me to be irresponsible with our current economic situation.

Clean? Have they ever seen a cobalt or nickel mine?

Clean buses? Just vacuum & mop em then? 😆

Only Perth?

What is the $250 mil for? Establishing capacity? increasing capacity? Or a subsidy to replace imports?

cant buy me LOVE

Buy from China?

Maybe they should do some study on EBs first. A study of China's bus operations would be a good start. My wife's city has EBs that recharge at any long stop by an inductive loop. I used buses in Perth regularly. One was 37. On a loop it had 4 long stops.

This kind of stuff should have happened YEARS ago!

Odd when there's a supposed 'deadly pandemic' going on and you hear little on health. Especially with all the extra heart attacks and nerve damage causing the escalating ramping problem.

AlboForPM Vote1Labor TheChoiceIsEasyAlbanese

How's he going to fund it ?

Shouldn’t that be the States responsibility?
