Businesses that use high levels of energy are to get more support from the government for electricity costs.
The support comes as firms and households are being hit by higher energy bills, driven by soaring global wholesale gas prices. As well as steel manufacturers, other energy-intensive industries such as paper factories will also receive the cash. He said the government wanted to "keep the UK at the forefront of manufacturing" and said the bill would help energy-intensive industries employing thousands of people "remain competitive and sustainable for the long term".
Too little too late for the small business I work for 🤷🏻♂️ £1700 on electricity alone per month. Zero help throughout COVID. Too late. Now we’re all soon to be jobless. The Conservatives have abandoned industry in this country and we’re all losing our jobs now.
Hang on. So this government will give our money to businesses that are struggling due to vastly inflated prices, yet won’t tax the businesses that are profiting enormously from those same vastly inflated prices? This magic money tree sure does have some strange rules.
Looney Left again believing that there's a magic money tree. If you don't back business and they fail, you can't employ, thus people can't pay their taxes / N.I. that help fund those who need support. Basic really.
Umm ... OK.
